Sabah Tourism Board issues guideline on proper dress code for tourists

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Tourism Board today issued a guideline on proper dress code via its Twitter account following recent incidence where a tourist was spotted with a bikini bottom at a public area here.

The notice, which is written in English, Chinese and Korean languages, indicates the state welcomes tourists to Kota Kinabalu and urges them to preserve Sabah’s culture and heritage.

It also said that by observing decorum, tourists can protect their body from the heat.

Besides, tourists are also reminded to respect places of worship by wearing decent clothings.

On June 27, two Chinese tourists had danced disrespectfully on a fence in front of the city mosque and were fined RM25 each.

Following the incidence, the mosque management temporarily banned tourists from visiting the place and reopened on Aug 1.
