HULU SELANGOR: Five police officers were injured, three badly, when the police van they were in, which also carried four detainees, skidded at KM428.3 of the North-South expressway near Bukit Beruntung here.
The four detainees, who were brought from Perlis to Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur also suffered minor injuries in the 3.30pm incident.
Hulu Selangor police chief Superintendent Lim Bak Phai said the van skidded due to slippery road.
“An accident occurred involving a van belonging to Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), which was carrying seven police escorts for the four detainees, and was on its way to Bukit Aman from Perlis.
“The van skidded due to heavy rain. The van was also escorted by three other police vehicles but they were not involved in the accident,” he said when contacted today.
He said three of the police officers were badly injured and four others slightly, while the detainees also suffered minor injuries and all of them had been brought to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatments.
