Pahang Sultan's condition showing improvement

BENTONG: There has been a positive development in the condition of Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah, who is receiving treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN), said his son and Regent Tengku Abdullah.

Tengku Abdullah expressed his gratitude to all the people and leaders of Pahang for praying for the health of his father.

“Alhamdulillah... I was just told this evening that Tuanku is resting and still under the care of doctors at IJN. There seems to be an improvement, but he is still being monitored closely. Let us all pray that Tuanku recovers,” he said.

Tengku Abdullah was speaking to reporters after attending prayers for Sultan Ahmad at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah mosque held in conjunction with his 87th birthday on Oct 24.

Present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, his predecessor Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, state executive councillors and heads of state government departments.

Tengku Abdullah’s statement indirectly denies viral statements on social media that Sultan Ahmad was in a coma at IJN. — Bernama
