IPOH: Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah today launched two Islamic books, namely, Modul Fiqh Kesihatan (fiqh of health module) and Hadith Nailul Marram Fi Ghazawati Khairil Anam which will be used as reference texts for religious talks in mosques state-wide.
Modul Fiqh Kesihatan focuses on diet and fitness, while the latter, which contains hadith (statements and actions of prophet Muhammad collected by Islamic scholars) on jihad, were launched during the state-level Islamic Education Excellence Award at Dewan Saidina Abu Bakar, Institut Tadbiran Islam Perak (INTIM) here.
Gracing the event was Raja Permaisuri Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim.
Also present were Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu, Mufti Perak of Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria and Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) director Datuk Mohd Yusop Husin.
Sultan Nazrin later presented the awards to 31 recipients and Perak state Mosque Learning Certificate to 26 people, as well as token of appreciation to 17 young hafiz (people who memorise all of Quran’s 30 juzuk) and hafizah.
Elaborating on the books, Mohd Yusop said it was the department’s aim to engage mosque congregations by also including aspects of daily life such as health.
“Mosque congregations comprise mostly elderly people. So, we decided to work with the relevant parties to create a health fiqh module which covers healthcare and diet, among others,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said the hadith book was a compilation of over 300 hadith related to jihad in an effort to provide better understanding of the concept of struggle in Islam.
“Many people relate jihad (struggles or efforts) with war, when it has broad meaning and we are trying to change people’s perception and make them understand what jihad really is.
“(For instance) combating poverty in itself is a jihad; combating the evil is also a (form of) jihad and this book is one way to prevent misconception, particularly on Islam,” he said.
