Seremban town to be given a facelift

SEREMBAN: Seremban town will be given a facelift to make it livelier, not only for the locals but tourists as well.

State Women Affairs, Family and Welfare Committee chairman Nicole Tan Lee Koon said red archways would be built on a couple of roads, while two roadways would be painted in green and blue.

She said the initiative was part of the nine-day 2019 Chinese New Year 2019 Carnival which will be held from Jan 26 at the Sungai Ujong Walk here, which is expected to draw thousands of visitors to Seremban.

“We want the location of this carnival to be more interesting and unique, so we built two gateways at Jalan Dr Murugesu and Jalan Siow Loong Hin which will be painted in red.. and to enliven the spirit of goodwill, we also plan to paint the road at Benteng Walk and Little India in green and blue respectively.

“We are doing this to attract people back to Seremban, because today, we see that Seremban town is only alive till 7pm, after which the area seems so quiet. That’s why we want to enliven Seremban and make it a tourist destination,” she said during a press conference on the carnival here today. – BERNAMA
