Tun Arifin to head RCI on discovery of mass graves in Wang Kelian

PUTRAJAYA: Former Chief Justice Tun Arifin Zakaria has been appointed as the chairman of the Royal Commission Inquiry (RCI) into the discovery of temporary settlement camps and mass graves in Wang Kelian, Perlis.

The Home Ministry in a statement said former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Norian Mai is the RCI's deputy chairman.

The RCI also has five other members.

According to the statement, the ministry obtained the consent to appoint the members of the RCI from the deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Jan 29, 2019.

Five others in the RCI are former Attorney-General's Chambers' (AGC) chief prosecutor Datuk Noorbahri Baharuddin, Suhakam chairman Tan Sri Razali Ismail, former AGC chief researcher Datuk Junaidah Abdul Rahman, former Malaysian ambassador to Thailand Datuk Nazirah Hussin and former Public Accounts Committee (PAC) deputy chairman Dr Tan Seng Giaw. — BERNAMA
