KUALA LUMPUR: The water supply has been restored to 90 per cent of the affected areas in Petaling, Hulu Langat and Sepang as of 8am today following the electricity power outage in Seri Kembangan, said Syabas customer relations and communications department head Abdul Raof Ahmad.
He said water supply in Sepang has returned to normal whilst supply in some high-altitude areas, such as Serdang and Gita Bayu in Hulu Langat region, is yet to recover due to low pressure and is on fluctuation.
For Petaling area, some high-end locations such as Bukit Serdang Industrial estate, Serdang Perdana, Serdang Raya, Lestari Perdana, Taman Saujana Puchong, Mutiara Indah Puchong and Taman Serdang Utama are still in the recovery process.
“We are intensifying our efforts to increase the level of distribution pools and stabilise the pressure on the distribution system to accelerate the recovery process in these areas.
“One Stop Service Center at Jalan PSK 9, Seri Kembangan operates 24 hours a day and emergency water assistance through water tankers are continuously moving to areas that are yet to recover,” he said in a statement, adding that consumers’ cooperation during this recovery period is highly appreciated.
