KOTA KINABALU: This year’s Sabah Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair will see an increase in the number of exhibitors with 115 booths to be opened, providing more exciting travel deals to the people.
The Malaysia’s largest nationwide consumers’ travel fair will be held at the International Technology and Commercial Centre (ITCC) in Penampang, from May 10-12.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Christina Liew is expected to launch the fair.
Sabah MATTA honorary secretary and organizing chairperson Alicia Gomes, in a statement said, the three-day fair will see participation of travel agents and hoteliers from Sabah, Sarawak, Peninsular Malaysia, as well as other countries.
“The National Tourism Organisations (NTO) confirmed that participation will include those from Macao and Indonesia, to name a few,” she said, informing that last year's fair consisted of 102 booths.
“Sabah MATTA trusts that the collaboration and support from exhibitors, sponsors, and State and National Tourism Organisations will bring greater success to the fair and will continue to contribute towards the growth of domestic and inbound tourism in our country,” added Gomes.
She noted the much anticipated travel fair will continue to meet and satisfy consumers' demands by providing a variety of value-for-money domestic and international packages.
As travellers prepare for their holidays, Sabah MATTA advised travelers to be equipped with sufficient travel insurance to protect themselves from unforeseen circumstances.
“It is important that travellers are sufficiently covered on their holidays and travels. This step can help ensure that travellers travel with a peace of mind,” stressed Gomes.
