'Pahang Go' app to benefit residents in the state

KUANTAN: Paying your utility bills and quit rent, and purchasing parking coupons on a mobile device is just a click away with the state government's ‘Pahang Go’ application, which will offer greater convenience to the people in Pahang.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the application has received the approval from the state executive committee and will be launched next month, with additional features to be included in stages.

He described the application as an initiative by the state government to utilise the digital platform that will make it easier for the people to make their payments from home without the hassle of waiting in a queue or spending time finding parking spaces.

“If previously they paid their utility bills at the post office, now they can complete the payments online from the comfort of their own home. There will be no additional charges for the payments.

“I’m sure the response to the application will be encouraging. This move is an initiative to transform agencies under the state government to carry out their duties effectively and with more quality," he told reporters during an interview in conjunction with his one-year anniversary as the Menteri Besar.

Wan Rosdy said the application, which is the brainchild of the state government, would help increase tax collection and make it easier for those with outstanding payments to settle their dues.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for ‘Pahang Go’ said once the application is launched, users can pay their electricity, phone and other utility bills by downloading the e-payment application.

He said users can also purchase parking coupons online and make various payments which is connected to the state-based government agencies.

“In the future, users can make hotel and homestay bookings as well as football tickets purchase for Malaysian League matches involving the Pahang team. Additional features will be provided in stages which will easily make it a one-stop centre application," he said.
