Azmin convinced leaked sex videos a PKR inside job

SHAH ALAM: PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali strongly believes that the leaked sex videos implicating him was an inside job from within the party.

“I am convinced,” he answered confidently twice, when asked if the move was orchestrated by someone within the party, following a news report on the disappearance of a state PKR leader, who is said to have connections in the Phillipines, after the sex videos were spread on social media recently.

Without naming anybody, Azmin said that he had, from the start, been confident that the controversy was a political agenda played up by certain quarters.

“It is aimed to bar my advancement and my performance in the government and politics. I am confident that the people can see who is culprit behind this episode.

“I feel its best that the rakyat on decide this matter. It is proven that the perception to foresee who is involved in this conspiracy and slander is growing stronger,” added Azmin.

Azmin, who is Economic Affairs minister, said this after witnessing the signing of Development Right Agreement between PCSB-MGB Consortium with Must Ehsan Development Sdn Bhd to build affordable homes in Encorp Cahaya Alam, here.

Also present was Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari and Housing and Local Government minister Zuraida Kamaruddin.

Asked to comment on an article by Australian media organisation, SBS News, which reported that the sex videos were not digitally altered but could not confirm it was him, Azmin said it was gutter politics that are wicked and cruel.

He added that it was inappropriate for anyone to comment on the videos as investigations by the police was in progress.

“Any statement issued by an individual or any parties now is unfair because the investigations are on going based on the reports that have been made.

“I have made some efforts to clear my name, apart from the qazaf report, a police report and others as advised by my lawyers.

“If there are any irresponsible parties making statements like that, it can be seen as disturbing the investigation process,” said Azmin.

Asked on the call for him to make “sumpah laknat” (swear that he is telling the truth, or face damnation), Azmin said that was why a qazaf report was made.

“There is a process so let it takes its course. It was done based on the lawyer’s advice and those who had given their views on this matter.

“We should allow the investigation to proceed, and not to interfere with it with statements or putting pressure on those who are tasked with carrying out the probe,” he added.

Azmin also has denied the video's authenticity, saying that he believed there was a plot against him.

He said it was nothing but a nefarious plot to assassinate his reputation and character in an attempt to destroy his political career.

Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who has claimed to be in the sex videos, has been suspended from his official duties by Deputy Primary Industries Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.

He was arrested last Friday by the police as he was about to board a flight to Manila, at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport about 6pm.
