KUALA LUMPUR: A senior PKR politician has taken to task the party’s top leadership for not taking action against Muhammad Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who confessed he was one of the two men featured in sex clips that went viral on the social media recently.
Institute for Policy Research chairman Datuk Khalid Jaafar said the Santubong PKR Youth chief, who had dragged a Cabinet minister into the scandal, had marred the party’s reputation when he made the confession and allegations.
Khalid did not mince words when he drew similarities of such action with Kuala Lumpur City Hall keeping the city clean from rubbish and the need for action to be taken against Haziq.
“If the people are tired with the rubbish problem beleaguering Kuala Lumpur, the measures that should be taken in restoring the city’s image is to take action against irresponsible person throwing the trash.
“Those who commit disgusting acts should be punished.
“Now, lets get to the core of the problem (involving PKR). Why there is no actions taken by PKR against Haziq for making such disgusting confession?, “ said Khalid in a statement today.
In his confession on his Facebook account, Khalid said, Haziq did not mention that he was a victim but the latter seemed be proud of engaging in unnatural sex.
“Such behaviour (engaging in sex against the order of nature) is not only wrong in eyes of society and the Muslims community but it is also an offence.
“The absence of any actions by PKR will only ruin the party’s image among the people and the Muslim community.
“It will translate as a failure of leadership in PKR especially on behalf of the (party’s president),” he said.
He also corrected statements made by Deputy Primary Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin that Haziq had had an internship stint with Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali when the latter was Selangor menteri besar.
He said Haziq, instead, was interning with the Selangor Menteri Besar’s Office.
Khalid, who was then the Selangor MB strategy and research chief officer, said Azmin had rejected Haziq’s application to become his intern.
“Since he has the potential, I took Haziq as an intern with the Selangor Menteri Besar’s Office at level 20.
“Having said that, he was never been an intern with (the then) Menteri Besar.” said Khalid.
