JEMPOL: Human remains discovered in a water tank at Felda Palong 12, here, on March 25 have been confirmed as that of final year Raub Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student Muhammad Aiman Hakim Mat Ani, 22.
Jempol district police chief Supt Muhd Nur Hishamuddin Hashim in a statement today said this was based on deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test done on the skeletal remains.
"We have informed the family on the test results. DNA testing requires time since the skeletal remains discovered had deteriorated and we believe it had been in the water tank for quite some time" he said.
The discovery was made in a water tank owned by Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan (SAINS) in Felda Palong 12, here, at 11.30am on March 25.
Muhammad Aiman Hakim who was a student of the Computer Science and Mathematics faculty was reported missing on July 9 last year. -- Bernama
