PETALING JAYA: A manager of a landscape company was arrested after he crashed his car into a fast food outlet in Kota Damansara here yesterday.
In the 6pm incident, the 60-year-old suspect was found to have driven under the influence of alcohol, resulting in him crashing his Mercedes Benz into the Burger King outlet.
Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said initial investigation found that the vehicle skidded and ran over a pedestrian and two motorcycles parked at the location.
“The crash also damaged the wall, tables and chairs outside the premises,” he said in a statement today.
Mohd Zani added that the pedestrian, 72-year-old Lee Guo Hoo, suffered injuries to his head and legs.
“Alcohol test on the suspect showed positive reading of excessive alcohol level, higher than the legal consumption limit.
“The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) and Section 45A(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” Mohd Zani concluded.
