KUALA LUMPUR: The VDV 8 vehicle number plate has the highest bid at RM73,000 since the series were launched on Aug 15.
Kuala Lumpur Road Transport Department (RTD) director Datuk Ismail Mohd Zawawi said the VDV series managed to collect RM1.5 million.
“A total of 1,654 bidders were involved in the bidding for the numbers.
“VDV 26 number plate received the highest number of bidders with 13, while VDV 88, VDV 99 and VDV77 received 12 bidders respectively.
“For VDU number plates launched on Aug 8, the series managed to rake in RM1.06 million from 727 bidders,” he said at a press conference after the assembly ceremony and National Day Celebration at Wangsa Maju RTD here.
Ismail said the next series, which is VDW, will be launched on Sept 5.
“The bid for VDW series will close on Sept 9 and the result will be announced on Sept 10. RTD has already implemented the Online Bidding System (JPJeBid) starting with the VDN series on June 21,” he said.
