Sg Buloh roadside rage: MBSA lodges police report

KUALA LUMPUR: A police report was lodged by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) following an incident in Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh yesterday involving their enforcement officers and a lady who allegedly attempted to prevent the officers from carrying out their duties.

The incident was caught on camera and the footage went viral showing a woman getting angry by the side of the road, spitting and throwing a traffic cone in a fit of rage.

Enforcement personnel and towing operators were in the midst of towing cars parked illegally in the area at the time.

A spokesman from MBSA confirmed the incident with the New Straits Times yesterday.

In a statement today, MBSA said the car involved was parked illegally by the side of the road.

MBSA enforcement officers from their Sungai Buloh branch issued a compound for obstructing traffic. After the compound was issued, the officers carried on with their rounds in the area, the statement said.

When the officers later returned to where the car was parked, they found that it had not been moved despite the compound being issued. This was when they initiated towing procedures.

"However, as soon as the towing was being carried out, a woman, believed to be the owner of the vehicle prevented the enforcement officers from carrying out their duties and she also used harsh words.

"Following this, MBSA lodged a police report at the Sungai Buloh police station and we leave it up to the police to investigate this matter further under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing civil servants from carrying out their duties," the statement read.
