Political turmoil: Kelantan not affected

KOTA BARU: Kelantan's Pas-led government has only one representative from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and the decision for the party to leave Pakatan Harapan (PH) does not affect to the state assembly.

Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob told The New Straits Times that his administration would remain intact despite the change in the composition of political parties in the Federal government.

In the state assembly, he said there is no PKR representative in the 45 seats and Pas has 39 seats, Barisan Nasional (5) and Bersatu (one).

Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed was the sole assemblyman for Kelantan's Bersatu in the state assembly.

The former BN Air Lanas assemblyman or locally known as Tok Pa had quit Umno and joined Bersatu in 2018.
