KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry has announced 130 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, bringing the tally to 1,030.
Its health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said initial investigation revealed that 48 out of the 130 new cases were related to the tabligh gathering at Sri Petaling mosque.
A total of 29 cases were from different clusters and 53 were still under investigation.
Meanwhile, he said 12 cases had fully recovered and were discharged today, bringing the cumulative cases of recovery to 87.
“To date, a total of 26 Covid-19 positive cases are being treated at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and need ventilator support,” he said in a statement.
There were 110 new cases reported yesterday, bringing the number of cases to 900.
Earlier, a total of 117 cases was reported on Wednesday, 120 cases on Tuesday, 125 cases on Monday and 190 new cases on Sunday.
Dr Noor Hisham also repeated calls for the public to heed the 14-day Movement Control Order period which ends on March 31 and stay at home to contain the spread of Covid-19.
“During this period, Malaysians can stay active at home through exercise or physical activities,” he said.
This, he said, included cardio exercises using cycling machine and treadmills, as well moving body muscles by doing push-ups, squats, planks, burpees and lunges, Tabata exercise and light exercises like yoga and tai chi.
“Malaysians can also remain active through dancing and carry out spring cleaning at home,” he said.
He said the public could also follow a webinar session which starts at 9am daily http://www.doctoroncall.com.my/coronavirus.
Information on Covid-19 is also available through the ministry’s Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC).
