KUALA LUMPUR: The emergency department and observation ward of Teluk Intan Hospital in Perak were temporarily closed today to make way for cleaning and disinfection works.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the emergency department will be operating at the hospital's outpatient building for the time being.
He said the overall operations at the hospital would continue as per normal.
The move come after it was reported that 37 medical officers and personnel at the hospital were tested positive for Covid-19.
Noor Hisham however assured that all safety and precautionary measures have been taken and that the situation is being closely monitored.
