JOHOR BARU: 611 individuals in Johor were arrested for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO) between March 18 and 31.
Johor police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said on Tuesday, 85 people were arrested for the offence.
"Of that total, 117 have been charged in court.
"All the cases were investigated and charged under Section 186 of the Penal Code, Section 22(b) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, and Regulation 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the local Infected Areas) Regulations 2020," said Ayob Khan in a statement.
He urged the public to cooperate by staying at home and said that stern action will be taken against those who violate the MCO.
