KUCHING: Sarawak will use virtual and digital methods for organising key events at the state level in line with the recommendation of the Ministry of Health in controlling the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak, said Minister in the Chief Minister's Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talip Zulpilip.
The special "Dirgahayu Tuanku" programme in conjunction with the state-level celebration of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah's official birthday on June 8 will be the first event using the method, he said.
"The celebration will be very different and unique because for the first time we are going to watch the whole programme digitally, and I understand that all the segments are pre-recorded and will be edited and processed digitally," he told a press conference at the Baitulmakmur Building, here, today.
The programme is divided into six segments, including Sarawak "Nopeng" traditional dance performance, special video titled "Monarchy", painting of "Wajah Kesayangan Hamba", writing of letter to His Majesty and special song performance titled "Tuanku Teristimewa".
The special programme will be broadcast live over RTM TV1 at 10pm on June 8. -- BERNAMA
