PUTRAJAYA: A total of 620 people who were placed under home quarantine have yet to undergo their second Covid-19 screening.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the authorities are seeking the cooperation of these individuals to do so, and urged them to contact the Health Ministry for further information.
"Police will take action if they fail to do so," he said in a statement today.
Ismail Sabri said police conducted 1,063 SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) compliance checks on those undergoing home quarantine and found blanket compliance by all involved.
He said the Health Ministry conducted Covid-19 screenings on 8,535 people who arrived via Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) between June 10 and yesterday (July 1).
He said of the total, 8,498 people tested negative for the virus and were ordered to undergo mandatory home quarantine, while 37 others tested positive for the virus and were sent to hospital for treatment.
A total 724 Malaysians returned to the country and arrived at KLIA and klia2 on July 1, out of which 723 were ordered to undergo mandatory home quarantine and one was sent to hospital, he said.
Ismail said the Malaysians had returned from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Brunei.
