GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow left the Penang Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office here after over four hours of questioning on the undersea tunnel project fiasco.
He arrived at 8.55am and only left at about 1.15pm while waving to the press who waited outside the premises.
His silver Mercedes-Benz stopped momentarily for the press who asked the Chief Minister what was the latest on the investigations.
"The focus (on today's investigation) was related to the undersea tunnel project.
"It was also to give validations on the executive councillors' decisions related to the project," he said.
Asked on the lengthy questioning, he explained that 90 minutes was spent solely on his background.
He also said the investigators had to type out the details he mentioned which could be the reason for the longer time taken to conclude the questioning.
Chow also confirmed that no documents were submitted to the MACC today and he was not informed if he has to return for further questioning.
Earlier, former Tourism Development and Culture Committee chairman Danny Law Heng Kiang and former state secretary Datuk Seri Farizan Darus were seen entering the MACC office.
It is believed that they were also called to have their statements recorded pertaining to the investigation.
Last Wednesday, the New Straits Times reported that the MACC had re-launched a probe into the project following new evidence which it received on the matter.
