KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 934 Malaysians had returned home via Kuala Lumpur International Airport and klia2 on Saturday.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said they flew in from Japan, Indonesia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Australia, Turkey, South Korea, India, Bangladesh and Iran.
"Of the total, 933 were ordered to undergo mandatory home quarantine at their respective homes and one was sent to the hospital," he said in a statement.
He said from June 10 to July 18, the Health Ministry had screened 21,014 individuals upon their arrival at KLIA, with 77 tested positive for Covid-19 and sent to the hospital for treatment.
The remaining 20,937 individuals, he said, tested negative and were ordered to undergo home quarantine.
Ismail Sabri said that the police yesterday had also conducted 1,433 home quarantine SOP inspections to ensure standard operating procedures' (SOPs) compliance among this group.
"All of them were acting in compliance with the SOPs set," he said in a statement today.
In another matter, he said, the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) had inspected 11 construction sites nationwide.
Of the total four construction sites were found to have fully complied with the SOP, while seven others were not in operations.
Ismail Sabri said from April 20 until July 18, 3,219 construction sites followed the SOPs, while 541 sites did not follow SOP and were issued warnings.
"CIDB enforcement officers had also instructed 19 sites to close down for not adhering to the SOP."
Meanwhile, the Housing and Local Government Ministry had since March 30 conducted 9,286 sanitation operations, comprising 134 zones.
Ismail Sabri said 12,717 premises were sanitised including 2,686 business premises, 5,560 government offices, 1,591 housing areas, 2,526 public places and 354 supermarkets.
Eleven sanitation operations were also carried out covering 11 Zones involving four states - Sabah (seven operations), Melaka (two), Terengganu and Pahang (one).
"This operation involved 17 members from the Fire and Rescue Department as well as 116 local authorities."
