KUALA LUMPUR: The annual Malaysia Agriculture Horticulture and Agrotourism (MAHA) exhibition will go on this year, said Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today.
The Senior Minister (Security Cluster) said the "hybrid" 2020 MAHA would be organised both physically and virtually.
"The special Cabinet meeting has agreed in principle with the suggestion to hold 2020 MAHA.
"The 2020 MAHA will be held from Nov 26 to 29 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (Maeps), and the necessary guidelines for the event will be laid out," he said at a press conference in Dewan Rakyat today.
He said only invited participants would be allowed to attend, with their attendance being recorded.
International participants, meanwhile, would participate via online, as the country's borders were still closed.
"A more detailed standard operating procedure will be discussed in a technical committee meeting."
Ismail Sabri also said the number of visitors would now be limited to 70,000 per day, a significant drop from 300,000 visitors previously.
There would be smaller number of exhibition booths to ensure physical distancing could be adhered to, he added.
