PUTRAJAYA: Former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng has been summoned to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters yet again, believed to be over the controversial undersea tunnel mega-project in Penang.
Lim arrived at the MACC office in Putrajaya in a heavily-tinted white Toyota Vellfire at 9.10pm tonight.
This was the fourth time that Lim had appeared before the MACC since the graftbusters started investigating the case in 2017.
The first round of questioning was on July 22.
In his last meeting on July 26, he spent eight hours giving his statement on the matter.
MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki had previously said that investigation papers on the undersea tunnel project are expected to be submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) in the near future for further action.
He also said that the investigation is in the final stages of completion, with only a few witnesses left to give their statements to complete the probe.
On June 30, the MACC detained a former senior official of the Penang Port Commission (PPC) to assist with investigations into elements of corruption in the RM6.3 billion undersea tunnel project.
Among others, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, and several current and former state executive council members were also called to provide statements to the MACC regarding the mega project.
Lim had served as Penang chief minister between 2008 and 2018.
