KUALA LUMPUR: Eight imported Covid-19 cases are among 10 new novel coronavirus cases reported to the Health Ministry as of noon today.
This brings the total number of cases in the country to 9,267.
The new imported cases, said the ministry, involved five non-citizens permitted to enter the country and three Malaysians returning from Mexico, Maldives, Japan and Indonesia.
Among the eight imported cases, three are from the Alam cluster in Sarawak.
Meanwhile, the two local cases are from the Tawar cluster involvingMalaysians in Kedah.
To date, a total of 3,286 people and 27 individuals related to the Tawar and Alam clusters respectively have been screened for Covid-19.
"Of the total screened, 65 from the Tawar cluster and seven from the Alam cluster tested positive for the virus.
"The ministry is waiting for the test results of 342 from the Tawar cluster and two from the Alam cluster," the ministry said, adding that the results for 65 related to the Tawar cluster and 18 screened under the Alam cluster came back negative of the virus.
As of noon today, 10 more Covid-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 8,959.
"Nine patients are currently being treated at the Intensive Care Units. Four of them require breathing assistance," the ministry added.
There are no new clusters or Covid-19 fatalities reported to the ministry today, keeping the death toll at 125.
