All 287 are local transmissions, with Kedah overtaking Sabah as the northern state records 129 new cases. Sabah meanwhile records 113 new cases.
In a press conference today, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 20 cases in the peninsular are linked to Sabah.
128 of the new positive cases in Kedah belong to the Tembok cluster, predominantly amongst prison officers and detainees.
Selangor has 31 new cases, Terengganu records three, Kelantan and Negri Sembilan both have two cases each while Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Pahang and Labuan records one new case each.
This brings the total number of cases in Malaysia to 11,771.
There are 1,540 active cases presently.
22 patients are being treated at intensive care units with four requiring breathing assistance.
