Zulkifli discharged today after full recovery from Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad al-Bakri was discharged from hospital today after he was confirmed fully recovered from Covid-19.

In a statement on his Facebook account, he said he was advised by the Health Ministry to rest at home until the end of the two-week of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period.

"At the moment, I have been advised not to meet anyone. Any meetings will be conducted through video conferencing. I will continue to monitor all work and reports under my portfolio, at home.

"I will keep updated on any general information on my social media. My main focus now is to provide aid to targeted groups especially in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor as the CMCO has begun and all assistance should be channelled immediately.

"I would like to thank the prime minister, cabinet ministers and ulama who have been sending me wishes through text messages and all Malaysians who prayed for my health. Not forgetting also the Health Ministry, its director-general and all the staff especially at Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban," he said.

Zulkifli tested positive for Covid-19 on Oct 5 after he returned from campaigning in Sabah.

After his return, it was believed that he attended several events between Sept 24 and Oct 4, including the special National Security Council Meeting.

Those who were present at the programmes he attended were told to undergo Covid-19 screening.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, are among those currently undergoing home quarantine after they attended the meeting with Zulkifli.
