PUTRAJAYA: One new Covid-19 cluster was reported in Malaysia as of noon today, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The cluster, Kertang cluster, was identified in Kota Belud, Sabah.
As of today, 21 cases were recorded under the new cluster.
"The index case of the cluster, case 17,623, was detected through close contact screenings on Oct 14 and has been admitted to quarantine and treatment centre at PPR Taman Seri Bayu, Kota Belud.
"Another 19 positive cases were identified via close contact screenings," he said in the daily Covid-19 press conference here today.
Dr Noor Hisham added that as of noon day, a total of 216 individuals have been screened, in which 21 were tested positive and 195 were negative.
