KUALA LUMPUR: All but three states in the Peninsular will be placed under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) for four weeks from Nov 9 to Dec 6.
The three states not affected are Perlis, Pahang and Kelantan.
This also means the CMCO currently in effect in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya will be extended for another four weeks.
Meanwhile, Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob who announced this during his non-health matters pertaining to the Covid-19 pandemic today said the CMCO in Labuan and Sabah will also be extended for the same duration.
The CMCO for the Klang Valley which began on Oct 14 was initially scheduled to end on Nov 9.
He said the decision on extending the CMCO to Kedah, Penang, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, Perak, Johor and Terengganu was made based on the Health Ministry's risk assessment on Covid-19 infectivity in these states, as well as the rising number of new cases there.
"The CMCO would enable the Health Ministry to carry out targeted screening and reduce movements among the affected community in order to curb the spread of Covid-19 between the states," he said.
Previous standard operating procedures (SOP) applied, he added.
"For Kelantan, Pahang dan Perlis, which are under the Recovery Movement Control Order, interstate travels are not allowed. However, inter-district travels within the three states are allowed," he said.
For Sarawak, interstate travels from peninsula, Sabah and Labuan are not allowed except with prior permission from the police.
"However, inter-district travels within Sarawak is allowed, except to Kuching district," he said.
