SHAH ALAM: Several Top Glove employees on Thursday scaled a fence to leave their workers' dormitory, which is currently under the Emergency Movement Control Order (EMCO).
The workers had reportedly left their hostel to purchase goods at a nearby house, which had been converted into a grocery store, Bernama reported.
However, police have assured the public that the house is within the EMCO area, and that Covid-19 quarantine had not been breached.
"The incident isn't an issue, because the grocery store is within the EMCO area," Selangor Police 'Op Covid-19' special spokesman, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Yazid Muhammad Yew said yesterday.
But he said the grocery store was operating without a license, and that the Klang Municipal Council has taken appropriate action.
Yazid urged the public not to panic over the incident, as security in the EMCO area is still under control.
