KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's biggest supermarket chain Mydin has sanitised its branch in USJ, Subang Jaya, after an operation staff tested positive for Covid-19.
Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad, in a statement yesterday, said all Mydin USJ operation staff took part in a health screening held on Dec 29 and 30.
"The screening found new cases among the staff. All Covid-19 positive individuals were immediately placed under quarantine.
"Close contacts have been identified and screened following the advice of the Health Ministry," the statement read.
Mydin said its business operations will continue as usual following approval by the Health Ministry.
"Disinfection and sanitation procedures were carried out at the entire premises on the same day within Health Ministry guidelines.
"We will ensure continued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) compliance for the wellbeing and safety of our employees and customers," it said.
The supermarket, however, did not specify the number of staff who tested positive for Covid-19.
Yesterday, Selangor recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases at 1,205 cases while Malaysia registered yet another record high of new daily Covid-19 infections with 2,525 cases.
