KOTA BARU: The Kelantan government expressed its condolences to the family of the former Lord President, Tun Dr Mohamed Salleh Abas, who died in the early hours of today.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob on his Facebook post said Mohamed Salleh was a respected legal figure and contributed a lot of his expertise to Kelantan.
"Mohamed Salleh helped the state government, especially after the Kelantan Syariah Criminal Enactment II was approved by the State Assembly Sitting in 1993.
"May his soul be granted blessings by Allah and placed him among the pious," said Ahmad.
Mohamed Salleh, 91, died of pneumonia and was buried at the Sheikh Ibrahim Muslim Cemetery in Kuala Terengganu around 10.40am.
The chairman of as-Salihin Trustee Berhad was admitted to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital on Thursday after he tested positive for Covid-19.
He leaves behind his wife Toh Puan Junaidah Wan Jusoh, five children and 26 grandchildren.
