I didn't feel a thing, says Muhyiddin after vaccine jab

KUALA LUMPUR: "I did not feel a thing," said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin after receiving the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 inoculation today.

He was the first Malaysian to be inoculated against the coronavirus at 2.42pm, in the largest vaccination exercise undertaken in the nation's exercise.

Speaking briefly to reporters after being placed under observation, Muhyiddin said he was confident that the vaccine was safe and effective.

"If you look at me now, (I am feeling well) alhamdulillah. I did not feel a thing, the injection was over very quickly and feels like any other injection.

"Don't worry, come forward (and get vaccinated)," he said.

He urged Malaysians to register for the vaccination on MySejahtera and wait for their turn to be immunised.

"I believe in the government's efforts to ensure that we can break the Covid-19 chain successfully."

Muhyiddin left the vaccination centre in Putrajaya at 3.12 pm, holding up a "Saya Telah Divaksin" (I have been vaccinated) card, along with a Covid-19 vaccination card.

He is scheduled to receive the second dose in 21 days on March 17, 2021.

Meanwhile, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah received his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the same vaccination centre, at 2.51pm.
