Pas denies claims it didn't support Muhyiddin in sedition case

KOTA BARU: Pas has denied that the party's leaders did not show support for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who was charged at Gua Musang's court today with making seditious remarks in Felda Peras.

Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the allegation made by a news portal today was baseless.

"The news portal has cited that Pas leaders were not supporting Tan Sri Muhyiddin when they did not turn up at the court today.

"The news report was not true as several of our top and state leaders such as the party's secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and leaders from Perak, as well as party's supporters were present at the court.

"I really regretted the news report and l believe the report was a big slander and try to cause stir among the parties in Perikatan Nasional," said Tuan Ibrahim.

The Kubang Kerian member of parliament said he was also informed that Gua Musang Pas leaders and supporters were also present at the court.

"Pas remains in solidarity with Muhyiddin and this is proven through the presence of our leaders and party supporters in Gua Musang today," he added.

A news portal report today said Pas was trying to 'stay away' from PN when its leaders did not turn up at Gua Musang's Sessions court earlier.

Muhyiddin was charged with making seditious remarks at Felda Perasu on Aug 14.

The former prime minister pleaded not guilty to the charge read before Judge Nik Mohd Tarmizie Nik Mohd Shukri.
