Siblings among three killed in Jalan Kuching crash

KUALA LUMPUR: Three people including two siblings were killed in an accident involving two vehicles at Jalan Kuching, near the Segambut roundabout, here, past midnight, ,earlier today.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (KJSPT) chief ACP Zulkefly Yahya said the victims were identified as Lee Pan Nee 45, her younger brother, Lee Veeran, 35, and Muhammad Hafiz Md Isa, 22.

He said initial investigations found that the 12.30am incident occurred when a Proton Satria car driven by Muhammad Hafiz lost control before ramming into a road divider.

The car then skidded into the opposite lane and collided with a Mazda BT-50 four-wheel-drive vehicle, that the two siblings were travelling in.

"The three victims died at the scene due to severe injuries.

"Their bodies were taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital's (HKL) forensic unit for post-mortem and this case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said.

Muhammad Hafiz's mother, Datuk Seri Erynna Abdul Rashid said her son who ran an online business selling fresh milk was on his way home after delivering a customer's order in Ampang.

"According to my son's friend, who was trailing his car, Muhammad Hafiz lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid a motorcycle," she said when contacted.
