KOTA BARU: The state government is hoping that Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) will continue to play its role in providing useful information to the people here.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said the Kelantan government also hoped RTM would remain as the 'bridge' connecting the government and people.
"The state government hopes RTM will continue its role in delivering the right information to the people especially on Kelantan government policies and programmes.
"Without this good co-operation, the community will not get the right and fast information about the state government's activities," he said.
Ahmad said this in his speech at RTM's 75th anniversary and 60th anniversary of RTM Orchestra here today.
Also present were Kelantan RTM director Wan Azhan Wan Hamat and State Islamic Development, Dakwah, Information and Regional Relations Committee chairman, Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.
Ahmad said the state government would continue to give its support to RTM in all its efforts to provide beneficial news to the people in the state.
"We pray that RTM which has operated for over seven decades, will remain relevant in the country and continue to be the main choice of Malaysians," he added.
Today marks a historic day for the Malaysian Broadcasting Department (RTM) as it celebrates its 75th anniversary and the 60th anniversary of RTM Orchestra.
RTM in a statement today said the department is also set to create four new records in the Malaysia Book of Records, namely, the Longest Running Broadcasting - 75 years; Most Number of Forums Live Simultaneously Through RTM Radio and TV; Most Number of Official Ceremonies Live Simultaneously Through RTM Radio and TV and the Longest Running Orchestra.
