MoH to suggest postponement of interstate travel for Raya [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry today suggested that the much anticipated 'balik kampung' interstate travel for Hari Raya next month be postponed.

This was announced by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba in a press conference today.

Apart from that, he also said Ramadan bazaars would be ordered to close if there emerge Covid-19 clusters linked to bazaar activities.

On Saturday, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Health Ministry needs to make an early announcement on its decision whether to allow interstate travel for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

This, he said, would facilitate the public to make preparations and ease those using public transportation to purchase tickets to return to their hometowns.

However, Ismail Sabri said the decision to give interstate travel a green light will be made based on the advice of the Health Ministry.
