Covid-19: Malaysia records more than 6,000 new cases for six days running

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded a total of 6,509 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, says Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

This marks the sixth consecutive day that Malaysia has breached the 6,000-new cases mark.

However, today's cases saw a slight reduction from the 6,976 infections registered yesterday.

Malaysia had on May 19 reported 6,075 cases, 6,806 cases on May 20, 6,493 on May 21, and 6,320 the following day.

Malaysia's total Covid-19 cases now stands at 518,600.

Dr Noor Hisham said Selangor continued to record the highest number of infections at 2,049, followed by Sarawak (520) as well as Johor and Kuala Lumpur (468).

Other states with three-digit daily cases were Kelantan (451), Penang (384), Kedah (348), Negri Sembilan and Melaka (329), Terengganu (263), Pahang (257), Perak (231), Sabah (184) and Labuan (171).
