KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry has detected 12 Covid-19 clusters linked to the community or categorised as Hari Raya sub-clusters as of yesterday (May 25), the 13th day of the month of Syawal.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the Hari Raya sub-clusters were detected in seven states with 470 people testing positive of Covid-19 to date.
Of the total clusters related to Hari Raya, Dr Noor Hisham said four were detected in Sabah, two each in Kelantan and the federal territory of Labuan, as well as one each in Selangor, Penang, Pahang and Sarawak.
According to the statistics on the Hari Raya sub-clusters shared by Dr Noor Hisham on his official Twitter account today, the Kepulauan Tumpat cluster in Kelantan was among the coronavirus clusters that detected the highest number of confirmed cases at 184.
"A total of 2,541 people related to all the Hari Raya sub-clusters have been screened to date.
"As of now, there is one fatality recorded from the Jalan Tahir cluster that emerged in Selangor.
"There are also two cases that were referred to the Intensive Care Units linked to the Simpang Sahari cluster that was detected in Labuan," he said.
Dr Noor Hisham went on to say "the cases are expected to increase and it will involve more states."
