KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) has congratulated and welcomed senior cadet officer Ahmad Yusuf Ahmad Azani into its ranks.
Yusuf successfully completed his training and graduated from the famed United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Maryland, on May 28.
His graduation ceremony was attended by the defence attaché at the Malaysian embassy in Washington D.C., Brigadier-General Datuk Saadon Hasnan of the Royal Malaysian Air Force and his wife.
Yusuf has been undergoing training at USNA since June 19 2017 and returned home with a Bachelor of Science in Cyber Operations on June 4.
"The officer is currently undergoing mandatory quarantine for 14 days according to the prescribed Covid-19 procedure. (He) will be commissioned as a junior lieutenant of the RMN and then follow the Executive Officer Qualification Course at KD Sultan Idris I (the RMN College at the Lumut naval base) this September," said a statement from the RMN.
