KUALA LUMPUR: Food and beverage delivery facility Foodpanda experienced a 'breakdown' with its online payment system on both its web and mobile platforms, since about 11am today.
The problem affected many transactions across the country affecting a large number of patrons as well as eateries, resulting in delays.
It was brought to The New Straits Times attention that social media was abuzz regarding issues ranging from failed payments to the inability to select any online payments for orders placed.
Several eateries and service delivery personnel told the NST that they had to resort to cash-upon-delivery transactions as an alternative.
In an immediate response, Foodpanda Malaysia public relations manager, Lisa Santa Maria said the company was currently experiencing some technical downtime on the platform.
"We are aware that this is affecting the customer ordering process and we are truly sorry for this poor experience.
"The team is currently working towards resolving this situation as soon as possible. In the meantime, customers can reach out to support@foodpanda.my for support on their orders," she said.
She reiterated Foodpanda's sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. She assured customers that they were working hard to provide the best delivery experience for its partners, riders and customers as soon as possible.
