Bukit Jalil PPV gets glowing reviews

KUALA LUMPUR: Phase three of the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme (NIP), which covers all adults under 60, began in the Klang Valley today in conjunction with the opening of the Bukit Jalil National Stadium vaccination centre (PPV).

The stadium is the latest mega vaccination centre to be set up, with a capacity of up to 10,000 inoculations per day.

Teacher Nurul Liyana Mohamad Ridhwan, 28, who registered for her vaccine in February, said the opening of the mega centre would enable more people to be vaccinated faster.

"I checked the MySejahtera app yesterday (Sunday) and was happy to find that my appointment would be at 4pm today (yesterday).

"It was very efficient. We did not have to queue and we were very comfortable.

"I arrived at 3.15pm and by 3.30pm, I had received my shot. The volunteers here are very helpful, making this a very good experience."

Muhamad Hakimi Mohd Nasri, 21, said everyone should get vaccinated to play his part to achieve herd immunity.

"Although I am young and not in any risk group, we all have to take precautions to bring the infection curve down and ensure that we can be free of Covid-19 soon."

Many people took to social media to share their experience at the vaccination centre.

Twitter user @hafizshamsul27 said his experience was a quick one, as he was in and out of the centre in about 30 minutes.

"It was very efficient at the Bukit Jalil Stadium PPV! (My) appointment was at 10am, arrived at 9.45am (and) was done with everything by 10.15am. Kudos PPV SN BJ! @JKJAVMY @DGHisham @Khairykj."

He tagged the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah and NIP coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Twitter user @amirahzmrn said the experience of getting her first dose was as smooth as butter.

"My vaccination process at the Bukit Jalil stadium today was quick. Arrived at 11.30am and was done by noon. There were so many people helping to ensure the process was smooth. Smooth like butter. Can't wait for my second dose!"

Social media user @tgiskandar said his experience had been smooth and quick.

"Well done, KKM and staff at PPV Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil! Very professional, coordinated, smooth and friendly! Around 20 minutes from start to finish, excluding observation time. @JKJAVMY."

Those getting vaccinated at Bukit Jalil will be notified via MySejahtera and will be assigned to one of three stations: HCO A, B or C.

You are advised to park at Car Park B, if you are assigned to HCO A or C, and Car Park C if you are assigned to HCO B or C.

Those arriving by LRT are advised to enter through Gate A. E-hailing and taxi passengers or car passengers being dropped off can enter at Gate E.

There is a drop-off area for people with disabilities (OKU) at the OKU parking zone. A buggy service is available for them.

People are reminded to arrive 30 minutes before the appointment to avoid overcrowding.

Those without an appointment will not be allowed to enter.

Those who have to travel from another district or state for the vaccination will need to show their MySejahtera vaccine appointment notification to the police at roadblocks.

People are advised to take a screenshot of the appointment notification rather than going through the app, so that it will be faster to load.

Important items to bring include your identification card or passport, smartphone with MySejahtera installed, a pen to sign consent forms as well as a list of medication you are taking.

Last week, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced the four-phase National Recovery Plan.

The plan was formulated based on data and science and takes into consideration preparations to manage Covid-19 and the economy, as well as the vaccination rollout.
