KUALA LUMPUR: The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) is working with the enforcement authorities including Police and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) to investigate claims of jabs provided to a particular group and false inoculation taking place.
In a statement today, the task force said that it took these allegations that had gone viral on social media seriously.
The first case took place on July 17 at the Sungai Petani Airport Camp drive-through vaccination centre (PPV) whereby the inoculation was specially provided for members of the armed forces and their family members.
"Vaccination at the said PPV was conducted by personnel from the camp's Armed Forces Hospital.
"An investigation has been conducted by ATM in relation to the incident whereby individuals were summoned for explanations and disciplinary action had been taken against the vaccinator."
CITF also said police were investigating two cases of false inoculation having taken place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) PPV on July 17 and the Bangi Avenue Convention Centre on July 18.
"Any development on the cases will be updated by the authorities involved. If it is proven, CITF will not hesitate to end the service of involved personnel and stern action will be taken under the provision of the law.
"As stated in the standard operating procedures, every vaccinator has to show the syringe to the vaccine before the injection.
"Member of the public are also urged to observe the syringe before and after the vaccination process to ensure that the vaccine is being administered."
