KUALA LUMPUR: The continuity of the country's National Recovery Plan (NRP) and its measures will be detailed during the tabling of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) and the 2022 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the 12MP is expected to be presented on Sept 20 while the 2022 Budget would be on Oct 29.
He said this in his statement on the NRP at the Lower House during the special meeting of the 3rd session of the 14th Parliament today.
"The 2022 Budget will be on three main economic focuses which are Recovery, Resilience and Reform.
"Specific attention will be given to efforts to revive affected sectors such as tourism, to enhance the public health system and the scope of social protection; as well as to boost the digital economy in to strengthen the country's competitiveness in facing new global norms.
"InsyaAllah, the government, through the Finance Ministry, will for the first time publish a Pre-Budget Statement including the people's consultation document on the focuses in August.
"This is in line with efforts to increase the process of transparency as well as the involvement of the people in the preparation of the annual budget.
"A NRP portal will also be developed as a one-stop point of reference. It will feature the latest indicators as well as related NRP information, benefits as well as the latest Standard Operating Procedures, in a user- friendly manner," said Muhyiddin.
