EMCO enforced in 12 localities in Sabah, Pahang and Johor

KUALA LUMPUR: Enhanced Movement Control Orders (EMCO) will be enforced in 10 localities in Sabah and one each in Pahang and Johor.

In Johor, it will be implemented at Kampung Orang Asli Kuala Masai, Johor Baru starting tomorrow. The EMCO in 11 other localities in Sabah and Pahang will start on Aug 27.

National Security Council (NSC) director-general (security) Datuk Rodzi Md Saad said the 10 localities in Sabah are Kampung Gading, Kampung Ulu Sapi, Ladang Melia in Telupid, Beverly Hills Fasa 5 and Kampung Nambazan in Penampang, Kampung Lohan Ulu and Kampung Libang in Ranau, Rancangan Batu 22 Apas in Tawau, Kampung Landung Ayang, Kudat, Kampung Pengalat Kecil, Papar.

"In Pahang, the EMCO will be enforced at Ladang Cheekah in Bera. In Sabah and Pahang, it will start on Aug 27, a day later than in Johor," he said in a statement.

Rodzi said the NSC had also decided to extend the existing EMCO in eight localities in Tuaran and Tawau, Sabah until Sept 9.

"The affected localities are Kampung Betutai, Kampung Bontoi, Kampung Kindu, Kampung Serusop, Taman Sri Rugading and, Taman Telipok Ria in Tuaran and two more localities at Kampung Bergosong, Pulau Sebatik and Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) Taman Sri Apas Batu 8 in Tawau."

Meanwhile, Rodzi said the NSC had also decided to lift the EMCO at Perkampungan Orang Asli in Pos Brooke, Gua Musang, Kelantan, involving Kampung Jedip WCT, Kampung Seng Sang and Kampung Sendrop starting tomorrow.

"In Sabah, the EMCO at Kampung Bolong Baru, Kampung Sungai Damit and Kampung Simpangan, Ladang Bukit Mas, Ladang Linbar 1, Kampung Lahat-Lahat in Pulau Sebatik, Kampung Kongsi 8, Perumahan Ladang Reka Halus, Perumahan Ladang Boustead Trunkline, Kampung Kayu Madang, Kampung Batition, Kota Marudu and Kampung Sunsuron in Tambunan will be lifted on Aug 26," he said.
