KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has accepted the new cabinet line-up presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today.
In a statement today, the Istana Negara said the King had an audience with Ismail Sabri at 11am for one and a half hours at Istana Abdulaziz in Kuantan, Pahang.
"During the audience which took place for an hour and a half starting at 11am, His Majesty has consented to accept the list of new cabinet ministers from Ismail Sabri following his appointment as the ninth prime minister on Aug 21, 2021.
"This is the second audience Ismail Sabri had since he was appointed as the prime minister.
"The first audience (with the King) had taken place after the swearing-in ceremony on Aug 21, 2021.
"After the audience, His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty Raja Permaisuri Agong consented to hosting a lunch session for the Prime Minister at Istana Abdulaziz," the statement read.
Earlier this morning, Ismail Sabri had landed at the Kuantan Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base at about 10.30am and arrived at the palace at 10.53am.
After the audience with the King, Ismail Sabri left the palace at about 1.38pm.
