Six-year-old boy with autism missing from Gopeng home

GOPENG: A six-year-old boy with autism has gone missing after venturing out of his home at Taman Kinta Baru, Gopeng, here, last night.

Muhammad Fayyadh Ukasyah Abdul Wahid, who is also deaf and mute, was last seen wearing a diaper and green BoBoiBoy T-shirt.

Kampar police chief Superintendent Hasron Nazri Hashim said police were alerted of the matter after a report was lodged by the boy's father, Abdul Wahid Shah at 7.50pm.

He said according to the boy's mother, Nur Shamimi Abdul Malek, her son was believed to have gone missing about 6.30pm.

"She has been looking for the boy at their residential area some 50 meter from their home but he was nowhere to be found.

"She then returned home and asked for her neighbours' help to find the boy," he said in a statement today.

Hasron said the mother then called her husband who was working at a factory at the time.

"About 7.10pm, the father arrived home and had also informed the neighbours of his missing son.

"Investigations also found the front door of the house and the gate were open and unlocked during the incident," he said, adding that the case has been classified as missing person.
