Two areas in Pahang to under EMCO from tomorrow, Saturday

KUALA LUMPUR: Kampung Bukit Serdang in Bera, Pahang, is set to enter a 14-day Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) period beginning tomorrow while Ladang Felda Kechau, 9, Taman Teratai in Budu in the Lipis district, will begin a two-week lockdown from Saturday.

National Security Council (NSC) director-general Datuk Rodzi Md Saad, who announced this in the council's daily update on social media, said the restriction was imposed after evaluating the Health Ministry's risk assessment and case trend reports on the area.

He also said the lockdown for the Orang Asli villages of Kampung Kuala Terbol, Kampung Pian and Kampung Lubok Wong would end on Friday as scheduled.

The EMCO in the Penor Prison in Kuantan is also set to end tomorrow. The lockdown for the three villages and the prison began a month ago and was extended in mid-September.

No lockdowns were extended by the NSC today.
