KUALA LUMPUR: All three of the Prime Minister's special envoys with ministerial status have not made any official visits abroad since their appointments.
This was confirmed by Minister in Prime Minister's Department (Special Functions) Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad in a parliamentary written reply.
The three special envoys with ministerial status are Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang who is the Prime Minister's special envoy to the Middle East, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing is the special envoy to China and Datuk Seri Richard Riot is the special envoy to Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
"Based on the service contracts that have been finalised, the emoluments received by all these special ambassadors is RM27,227.20.
"They are also offered several other allowances such as mobile phones, vehicles, drivers, and offices.
"So far no official trips abroad have been made by the Special Envoys to the Prime Minister," he said.
Abd Latif said this in response to Akmal Nasir (Pakatan Harapan-Johor Baru) who asked on the emoluments, allowances, and trips made by each of the special envoys with ministerial status since their appointments.
